Emperor class had a stunning start to their topic on 'Fenland' with a visit to Wicken Fen. The children took part in workshops in the traditional Fen cottage and workshop. All the children used traditional methods to help create a chair leg. They were real life 'Fen' people for the session.
Activities on the boardwalk gave time for spotting beautiful wildlife. Our lucky spots included a Kingfisher, lizard and emperor dragonfly (rather fitting for our class). Learning about the wind pump gave the children an insight into how todays Fenland landscape has been created.
