Apprentice Level 3 Teaching Assistant
Can you make a difference to our children?
We are looking for an apprentice Teaching Assistant to complement our team and work across the school. As an apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers, pupils in all areas of the curriculum and act as a role model for pupils, being a positive influence on their behaviour and performance at school. You will provide support to teachers in preparing for lessons and helping create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all pupils. The role involves assisting the classroom teacher in the teaching, support and inclusion of children, working with small groups and one to one, encouraging the children to become independent. Our staff are creative, ambitious and child-centred and applicants must want to be part of our friendly and ambitious team. You will be given the opportunity to be part of a whole school team, with guidance and support. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is highly motivated and able to offer high quality education and care to our children. Part of this role will include providing intimate care for pupils, full training, including moving and handling will be provided.
It is essential that you are able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills. You will be required to have the equivalent of GCSE grade C in English and Maths. If you do not have these you will be required to have completed the level 2 qualification in English and Maths during your apprenticeship. You must be committed to upholding and supporting the school’s values and aims. First aid training would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
This is a fixed term contract for the duration of the apprenticeship typically 15 to 18 months. The contract is for 39 weeks. Apprenticeship minimum wate rate currently – £6.40 per hour.
